Getting ready for the baby...

Went to Target on Saturday morning to buy some baby stuff- crib sheets, little baby nail clippers, etc.  It was before 11am and the store already looked like this:

Yikes.

Managed to get some things on my list and was VERY glad I left Peter at home.  He gets kinda twitchy at Target sometimes and between the toddler screaming for her goldfish crackers, the complete mess everywhere and their new, giant carts that don't fit between clothing racks it was a trying visit.  (not to mention their completely non-sensical organization. Flat fold diapers are not with diapers, they are hidden somewhere next to some onesies.  Baby care items like nail clippers are not with the baby wash and diaper cream, they are on an end cap next to baby carriers. WTH???)

I got out of Target as soon as I could and headed over to the craft store.  I was on a mission to buy yarn so I could add a pom-pom to this hat my friend Dani had handed down:

I think my pom-pom turned out pretty good.  Now, I know most of you are not Sci-Fi fans, so you may not know WHY I needed to add a pom-pom to this already cute hat.  Well, you see, the pom-pom makes this a "Jayne hat" from the show Firefly.

This probably doesn't explain things, but, well, here- watch this:

Still don't get it?  Oh well, you know Peter and I are weird, so just go with it.  :)

While I was at the craft store I also got some multi-colored yarn and an embroidery hoop to make a mobile for over the changing table.  I felt the need to craft something, anything, for the baby's room, so now that this is done I can relax (yeah right!).

As of Monday I have 10 weeks until the due date.  That both sounds like tons of time and no time at all.  Ack.  Time to get this baby installed on the rear-windshield of my car:

Yeah.  Now I'm ready.
