Movin'

He's really trying to crawl, but all he can manage so far is pushing himself backwards. Oops. I rescued him before he ended up completely under the sofa.

Halloween and First Tooth!

Fire Chief Oliver Burt has had a busy week, culminating in his first tooth breaking through Fri/Sat night.

Such a dapper, big boy!

Well. Mostly dapper.

Snow flurries in the forecast here tonight, winter is on its way!

Travelin'

The crib traveling has begun. This was how I found Oliver this morning:

At least he can't get himself up from lying down yet.

Upright

Ignore the sour expression- look at how well he's sitting up!

Jump, Jump!

It's been a pretty tough week, he hasn't been very happy and we've restarted the Zantac for reflux to see if that offers any relief.

BUT- he has a new jumper and he LOVESSSSS IT!

6 Month Superlatives

Favorite Book: Goodnight Moon
Favorite Songs: Ba Ba Black Sheep, Alphabet Song

Likes: Being outside, Car Rides, Stroller rides, Eating food, Exersaucer

Dislikes: Nap time, Being placed on his back, Waiting for anything

Tricks: Rolling over tummy to Back, Sitting (by himself, but he'll still topple if he reaches for something off to the side), Throwing Things, Pulling Himself up to sit

Clothing size: 9 month, plus (I'm dressing him in some 12 month stuff already- he is so long, but skinny!)
Weight and Length: (I'll update with this info when we go for his checkup next Friday)

I feel like the changes in him are accelerating. Every day there is something new he can do, a new noise he can make or a new piece of the world he has discovered.  This week he wants to watch everything the dog does, and has noticed the cars passing and the leaves falling.  One day he could barely pull himself up from his back to a seated position and two days later he was doing it.

Aaannnndddd... Gotta go. He's crying, again. So much for a nap longer than 30 minutes today. :( He certainly keeps me on my toes.

Fall!

After Oliver's nap on Friday, we ventured into Ellsworth to run some errands.  Since he fell asleep on the way home, I thought we had better do something to tucker him out enough to take an afternoon nap.  So, we went to the park, and Oliver had his first ride on the baby swing.

At first we was like, what????

What is this thing???

But then he was like, AWESOME!

WHEEEEE!

On Saturday we went to Treworgy Family Orchard up in Levant.  Oliver was slightly perplexed..

Uhhhh????

Mom, why am I in a tree?

And this was the best family photo we could manage.  Oh well.

Peter and Oliver wore matching outfits for the day.  Here they are checking out the pumpkin selection.

We did get a nice shot of Oliver in the pumpkin patch... and a matching photo of Peter.

Still looking perplexed.

Like Father, like Son.

We had a nice time, and now I need to figure out what to do with a bag of apples, since I've already made a bunch of applesauce.  Maybe I'll just make MORE applesauce.  I really need a bigger freezer...
